INTERVENTION STRATEGIES

Our intervention is part of a long-term vision of agricultural development based on integrated farming of “sweet potato and pigs” on small farms in the Northwest and Southwest regions, and integrated farming of “agricultural and dairy farming” in the medium-sized farms of north-eastern Rwanda. SWW-Muhoza opted for a direct, practical assistance: providing a small start-up capital in the form of micro-credit. For example, just 200 € could buy two good quality breeding pigs or one dairy cow.

Other forms of direct aid could be provided, including paying secondary and university education fees for some students.
